Such a system is characterised by the emergence of regional organisations and fora as the dominant drivers of international relations. Because of this new reality, these organisations now fight to protect and preserve their own autonomy, integrity and resilience—three key pillars of ensuring prosperity in a dynamic world.

At MaltMUN 2026, we embrace change to our international system, not simply by passively educating about it, but primarily by allowing our participants to directly engage with and simulate several so-called post-multilateral organisations and fora. This theme seeks to challenge traditional understandings of international co-operation and emphasise the new reality that we find ourselves in.
